POONGKAR RICE

Poongkar is a short duration crop among the traditional rice varieties. Traditionally this rice is given to pregnant women to improve their health and disease resistance. Pregnant women eating this rice is expected to give normal delivery. It is traditionally believed that pregnant women taking this rice will get more milk secretion.
